The second biggest mountain in Africa moved 100 meters on Friday night.
According to a resident of Karatina, there were tremors and earthquakes in the region at 3 AM.
“The earthquakes lasted for about seven minutes. If felt as if some big boulder was being rolled through town,” Githinji said.
Similar reports were made by people all over the Mt Kenya region. Those nearer the mountain also experienced gushing winds that blew off several roofs.
“It sounded as though God was coming or something big was happening. We were worried sick.”
On the wee hours of Saturday morning, trekkers and mountain hikers reported the mountain had seemingly moved 100 meters towards Nanyuki town.
“I thought I was going mad. A section of where Mt Kenya was was empty, with only bare rock left. It was a though the mountain had moved overnight,” a game warden intimated.
It later emerged the mountain moved as a result of a University of Nairobi scholar research.
The researcher had been camping on the mountain with 100 girls named Faith in a bid to test whether they can move a mountain.

It hasn’t been revealed what they exactly did (pray, push, or meditate) to move the mountain but they sure did move it.
It was concluded that faith moves mountains but the issue at hand is returning the 5,199 meters-high-boulder to its original spot.
